To begin this Pokémon cake, we’ll start by taking a quick look at meilleurduchef.com for some French cuisine inspiration. If you don’t speak French, I’ll translate the biscuit recipe into English for you. Ingredients for 4 to 6 people:
150 g of flour
140 g of sugar
4 whole eggs
125 g of Tanzanian dark covering chocolate
1 packet of vanilla sugar
20 cl of thick cream
1 packet of baking powder
A knob of butter for greasing the mold
In the microwave, melt the dark chocolate with 3 to 4 cl of water until it is soft but not liquid. Start with 30 seconds at 900 W, then stir every 10 seconds. At this stage, the chocolate will tend to thicken slightly. Add the eggs one by one, followed by the flour and baking powder. Finally, add the cream.
Pour the mixture into your mold. I used the spatula to spread the mixture more towards the edges, so that the cake would be relatively flat after rising.
Bake for 20 minutes in a convection oven at 180°C (356°F).
Once cool, carefully unmold the cakes. They should come out of the mold without difficulty.
For the next steps, equip yourself with ready-made fondant in various colors. All you have to do is roll it out. Use powdered sugar to prevent the fondant from sticking and a brush with water to adhere it to the desired areas. For Pikachu, I previously attached black spots to the black areas of the ears and red at the mouth and cheeks. Use water to ensure it adheres completely.
